János Szekeres

János Szekeres was born in Germany in 1947. He grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was raised in a large Hungarian community, moved with his family in his late teens back to Europe and in the early seventies to the United States.  Studied European history in New York and later did some volunteer work for the Hungarian Human Rights Foundation.

In the eighties and nineties, he worked at an economics consulting firm in Washington, DC.

He is a founding member of the Hungarian American Coalition and has been working in support of some of its programs, such as the John N. Lauer Leadership Program ever since.  In the late nineties created a press clipping service, Noticed in the Press, with the objective of disseminating published material of interest to the Hungarian American community.
